Kebbi, MSM Cement Sign Landmark MOU to Establish Factory Projected to Create 45,000 Jobs

The Kebbi State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MSM Cement Ltd to establish a major cement factory in Maiyama Local Government Area.

Governor Dr. Nasir Idris described the project as a historic milestone that will transform Kebbi’s economy and deliver on his campaign promise to attract large-scale investments. The agreement was formalized in Abuja, witnessed by Governor Idris, MSM Chairman Mu’azzam Mairawani, and key federal officials.

The new factory is expected to:

  • Create 20,000 direct jobs and 25,000 indirect jobs
  • Produce over three million tons of cement annually with state-of-the-art technology
  • Rank among the largest private-sector employers in the region

The Governor emphasized that the development goes beyond cement production, as it positions Kebbi as a hub for mineral exploration.

“This agreement marks the beginning of a new era of prosperity for Kebbi. With visionary leadership and strategic partnerships, we are unlocking the state’s full economic potential.”
